Why we're here
Equal play exists because we still need to accelerate the progress being made by clubs and
organisations to break down the barriers women and girls face accessing sport. We want to help identify those barriers and create more welcoming environments.
Our purpose is to support clubs and organisations in increasing the participation of women and girls by creating inclusive programmes where they can take part, progress, and thrive - regardless of age, background, or experience.
This approach helps build stronger, more sustainable community clubs while increasing participation and creating lasting positive change.
Who we are
Equal Play was founded by Andrea Ellis, a passionate advocate for increasing participation in sport.
With experience in community development, coaching, and mentoring, including roles within a professional football club and The FA, Andrea knows what it takes to break down barriers and build inclusive and sustainable programmes for women and girls.
How we make a difference
Club & Community Development
We help organisations, clubs and communities design, grow, and sustain programmes that are inclusive, accessible, and meet the needs of women and girls, ensuring long-term impact.
Inclusion & Participation Growth
We identify the barriers that prevent women and girls from accessing sport and create strategies that break them down, improving opportunities for everyone to take part, regardless of age, background, or experience.
Programme Design & Delivery
We support the entire journey, from inception through to delivery. We can create initiatives that not only get people involved but also embed lasting change within clubs and communities.
